What is Naturopathy?

What is a Naturopath?

A Naturopath is a trained health practitioner with a holistic approach to health and healing. Naturopaths focus on improving the body’s ability to heal itself. We look for the root cause of health issues, not just treat the symptoms.  Employing a combination of scientific evidence and traditional naturopathic knowledge, we believe the prevention of illness is just as important as the treatment.  Factors such as previous medical  history, family medical history, diet and lifestyle are all considered. Naturopaths work in conjunction with all health care professionals, including your GP.

Diana is a fully qualified Naturopath, registered with the Naturopaths and Herbalists Association of Australia (NHAA). She completed her Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy at Australasian College of Natural Therapies (ACNT). She avidly believes in the Naturopathic core philosophy that, given the correct requirements, “the body has an innate ability to heal itself”.

While Diana enjoys treating a broad range of conditions, she believes that gut and digestive health are the foundations of a healthy body and mind. Nutritious food, exercise, adequate sleep and a good work/play balance are equally necessary to keep our bodies doing what they were meant to do.

“One of the most satisfying aspects of my work is helping clients address the underlying causes of their health concerns. I like to think of myself as a health Detective,  looking at the body as a whole,  connecting the dots between symptoms and their underlying causes.”

As a mother of adult children and now  grandchildren, Diana is  also a  passionate believer that good health starts in pregnancy and early childhood, so likes to educate on the benefits of  healthy nutrition, exercise and rest to strengthen young immune systems so that they might recover quickly from illness. She believes these are the foundational years for lifelong health and vitality.

If you’re “not feeling yourself ” Diana can work with you to recover and manage your health in a holistic way.
